
Besides supporting kids in the classroom, one thing I like to do is make flashcards for them to study for tests. Kids I work with go on "sensory overload" (quite literally, actually) if they have a packet of notes. It's just way too much to "see" at once and somehow try to process. Here's how I begin (boxes on sheets of paper), then I copy them (for the number of students who will need them), and cut them up. I've learned from past years if you don't have them already cut, they won't study!

I'll hand these out today:) They have a test Friday on short story elements.
